But that is the reality, and the “VTuber” craze is seeing such massive waves that it is showing potential to even dethrone the current queen, Amouranth.
From online concerts, virtual meetings, and buckets of fan service, the VTubers give what the new generation of internet users desperately crave, living out their anime fantasies. And they are highly successful in doing it, as in the last couple of years, the Virtual streamers are over-saturating the platform, gaining some absurd amounts of growth and success.
Amouranth about to be surpassed by VTubers?

Though the platforms of Twitch and YouTube are currently dominated by IRL streamers, such as Amouranth, xQc, and Kai Cenat, the rapidly growing VTubers are showing some serious challenges to their thrones. In the last couple of months, Virtual streamers such as Ironmouse and Pekora have gained some astonishing numbers on their channels.
The recently released stream charts have revealed some interesting facts about the current trends in the online content creation spheres. According to the reports, in the Q1-Q4 of 2022, three out of the top-5 female creators were VTubers. While the long-reigning queen Amouranth still secures the first spot, the Anime E-girls are not far behind.

The reports show that in the quarters of 2022, Amouranth has a watch time of 32 million hours. The second place is secured by the Japanese VTuber Pekora, who has a total watch time of 23 million hours. Third and fourth places are also secured by VTubers, Sakura Miko, and Ironmouse. Sakura garnered a total watch time of 20.7 million hours, followed closely by IronMouse with 20.5 million hours. Another VTuber Saddummy also made it to the top charts with 15 Million hours.
The time when Ludwig’s subathon record was almost broken by a VTuber
During the initial months of last year, the face of American VTubing culture, Ironmouse, hosted her iconic subathon. Wrestling with a severe physical condition, Ironmouse started her career as a VTuber to make friends without showing herself. But little did she know she would become a phenomenon in the streaming culture.

On March 7, she ended her subathon that lasted for 31 days, the same length as the previous record holder, Ludwig. Thanks to this, she gained a massive influx of followers and subs, making her one of the top channels.
