The reports of Microsoft taking over Activision Blizzard for $95.00 per share, or $68.7 billion, were shared by Microsoft themselves, this year in January. The Verge’s Senior Editor wrote on his Twitter, “Microsoft has been super clear about Call of Duty on PlayStation, but the European Commission continues to voice concerns. Apparently those concerns also relate to “my PlayStation” in some cases.”

One thing also to be noted here, is that Xbox and PlayStation signed a deal regarding Call of Duty last month. Phil Spencer, CEO of Xbox in a statement to The Verge, “In January, we provided a signed agreement to Sony to guarantee CoD on PlayStation, with feature and content parity, for at least several more years beyond the current Sony contract, an offer that goes well beyond typical gaming industry agreements.” The deal was later revealed to be for 3 years, as of now.
