The Game Awards 2021 line-up just keeps getting better and better! Legendary artist the Sting, Imagine Dragons, and now a tech demo starring the iconic The Matrix Trilogy star, Keanu Reeves will be presented at the most-awaited award show of the year.
Earlier this week, insiders had suggested The Matrix Awakens: An Unreal Engine 5 Experience will be showcased at the event. Now, Geoff Keighley, host of Game Awards 2021 and other reputed events, along with Unreal Engine, has confirmed the reports. And it looks like Matrix and Keanu fans are in for a treat.

Game Awards 2021: Unreal Engine 5 – The Future is here
Keighley took to Twitter to announce the arrival, stating he’s been “waiting a long time for a moment like this”.

The Matrix Awakens, an interactive, futuristic storytelling and entertainment experience, to put in the words of officials, is currently available for pre-download on the latest generation of consoles, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. As you may know, it has been developed on the one-of-its-kind Unreal Engine 5 and will give a glimpse to everyone of what individuals can expect from various titles in years to come.
Unfortunately, PC-based players and legacy consoles, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, owners will not get a chance to experience the tech demo first-hand.
The Matrix duo returns
Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss reprise their roles as Neo and Trinity in the first official trailer being released with the help of the next-gen Unreal engine.

Sadly, for those expecting to get their hands on another game with Keanu Reeves, the showcasing will strictly be a tech demo. Intended to be a promotion or a trailer/teaser for the upcoming fourth movie (as per Metro), The Matrix Resurrections of the highly acclaimed The Matrix franchise. The much-awaited movie will release on December 22, 2021 (tentatively). And will finally see fan-favorite, Keanu, back in action doing what he does best.
The Matrix Awakens will be premiered this Thursday (December 9, 2021) at Game Awards 2021. And fans cannot wait anymore!
