Halo TV Series has a massive budget which creates massive hype for the series
As noted above, the series is starting out with a budget of over $90 million, with each episode having an expenditure of $10 million. Although the makers of the series have not cited any particular reason or entity for this expenditure, the chief of programming at Paramount Plus says that the show attempts “a swing for a broad audience.” Giles further adds, “My hope is this expands what the Paramount Plus brand can mean.”
The expectations for the series are very similar to what people had with Game of Thrones. Game of Thrones also had a similar budget in its first few seasons, which later rose up to become $15 million per episode in its later seasons.

It is important to note that the Halo TV Series has gone through rigorous revisions and rewrites and was an expensive affair from the perspective of production. The Showrunner of the series, Steven Kane, says that there were over 265 drafts prepared for the first season itself!
Furthermore, the series is very much different from the games and will follow its own canon, with the characters being the same from the game. The series will follow a timeline of its own – the Silver Timeline and is also expected to reveal Master Chief’s face- something that was never done in the games.
