With the latest release of the remake of The Last of Us part 1, fans have been enjoying the game to its fullest. As the award-winning game, with a critically acclaimed storyline, saw the return of fans to the game, another piece of news is now making headlines as the video streaming platform HBO Max announces a TLOU TV Series.

Fans have been recently delighted by the news as they got to know their favorite game is now a full-fledged series on HBO Max. Along with this, the news got, even more, sweeter when the actor was revealed to be ‘The Mandalorian’ famed Pedro Pascal.

PlayStation announces the latest The Last of Us series for HBO Max

In a recent post by PlayStation and HBO alike, they announced the arrival of the critically acclaimed and the fan favorite PlayStation exclusive The Last Of Us on HBO Max next year in 2023. Although there is no official date given for the series yet, it can be speculated that the live-action series might be coming somewhere around the start of the next year (this might change according to scheduling delays).

It is also noteworthy that the series will be following the storyline of the first TLOU game, where Joel will be tasked to smuggle Ellie across a post-apocalyptic America. Initially developed by Naughty Dog, the game was released in 2013 and had been a hit ever since.

The most important factor with the live-action trailer is that the casting and the atmosphere shown in the clip match almost the one in the actual game. The tonality of the trailer although has some bumps here and there, and the overall intensity feels utterly captivating.

The cast and the crew for the live-action

Another important factor regarding the live-action series is the fact that the cast almost feels perfect in the trailer. Joel played by Pedro Pascal, Ellie by Bella Ramsey, Tommy Miller by Gabriel Luna, Tess by Anna Torv, and Nico Parker as Sarah Miller almost feels as if they were made to play these roles.

Apart from this, the writer of the show will be the Emmy Award-winning screenwriter Craig Mazin, also known for his extremely well-known TV series for HBO, Chernobyl, alongside the game’s original director Neil Druckmann. While the director of the pilot episode will be Kantemir Balagov, and the music is composed by award-winning composer Gustavo Santaolalla.
