Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is coming soon, and the game has people excited to such an extent that the game’s Collector’s Edition went out of stock within minutes of its availability.
Other than this, the game has incited so many speculations and predictions that we get a new fan theory every day. Some have a number of things to say about the game’s story, while others have a bunch to talk about its gameplay mechanics.
And the biggest of those speculations came when someone suggested that we might be getting more than one playable character in this upcoming game!

Would The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom have Zelda as a playable character?
The latest trailer of Tears of the Kingdom gave us a detailed look at this upcoming game’s world. We got to see various enemies; we got to see graphical upgrades, makeshift vehicles, and a bunch more. A hefty look at the story details of this game was also seen.
Ganon talks to his minions about destroying Hyrule and his minions show up falling from the skies. We saw some new enemies taking shape, and we saw Ganon’s corpse once again coming to life.

Amongst all these details, Nintendo also gave its fans a bunch of curious details about Princess Zelda. She is mostly heard talking to Link about how he would not be able to defeat Ganon. And then she can be heard praying to Hylia so that the Goddess can aid Link in his quest to save Hyrule.
But the biggest rumor that was circulating through the last few weeks was that we might see Princess Zelda meeting her end in this game. That too, in a very curious manner. It was suggested that the character might connect with Hylia at some point and even become her.

And some are suggesting that players might be guiding her on this path to becoming Hylia. That means fans would finally get their wish to play as Zelda in a mainline Zelda game fulfilled. If that’s true, this would be a very rare occurrence too!
Even though the series is this popular character’s namesake, players mostly find themselves controlling the hero in the green tunic, Link. Zelda has been a playable character previously in games like Smash Bros., Mario Kart, Hyrule Warriors, etc. But she was never playable in a mainline game.
