The trailers released so far haven’t disclosed a lot about the upcoming games. But they might have dropped subtle hints at what the upcoming Zelda title might have and the ‘crafting system’ is among them. The Legend of Zelda went for an open-world setting since the Breath of the Wild. Now, it seems with Tears of the Kingdom, they want to move further down that line.
Crafting in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
If Zelda is going the more ‘open-world’ approach, then crafting is the perfect next step. As we already saw the Pokemon series enable crafting in Legends: Arceus. In Tears of the Kingdom trailers, we could see Link riding on a car-like vehicle and two aerial transportation- an air balloon and a flying machine. What is fascinating about these vehicles is that they have similar-looking parts which are attached by a green substance.
The proof that solidifies the fact that Link built this vehicle is when we could see him retrieving the car’s tires. So there is a possibility that players would have to scavenge for parts and use some ability to craft them. Transportation isn’t where crafting is limited, as players can craft weapons.

The trailers also showed Link using a fire-breathing dragon head item and something similar to a club. Further, the dragon head was attached to Link’s shield and the club’s head also looked kinda similar to the dragon head. But the biggest thing to notice was all these vehicles and weapons shared a unique mark. There is a possibility this mark hints at objects that are craftable.
