Recent The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom showcase was a somewhat tell-all event. Eiji Aonuma introduced the fans of this game to a bunch of new ideas that developers have implemented in the sequel. From a new weapon crafting mechanic to a very inventive vehicle-building mechanic, every small detail has grabbed the onlooker’s attention. These, combined with some new abilities, have really proven that Nintendo is really good at coming up with new ideas.

Even after showing all these things, there was one very big aspect of this game that Aonuma missed, one that we talked about a while ago.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom revealed crafting and new abilities, but what about the dungeons?

Eiji Aonuma started the video by showing fans how they can reach those flying locations called Sky Islands. He then spent a lot of time exploring one of those islands and showing us how the new weapon crafting system works. Then he went on to present a new ability that allows players to build structures and machinery using logs and other items found in the open world.

He even showed us those new custom arrows we can craft on the fly. Those arrows would let us craft various elemental arrows as well as homing arrows. After getting hit by an enemy with a customs weapon, he flew off the island and decided to dive into a body of water just below him. The anticipation rose, but the moment he landed, he bid farewell (Link was safe, another fun activity to do now).

We never saw those expansive experimental dungeons that we have been hearing about for so long. Nor did he show us those underground locations that have been hinted at in the game’s various trailers. Fans are wondering why he decided to skip those aspects of this game.

It might be that they first decided to show fans the skies. Moreover, the underworld might unveil itself in a later showcase or could surprise us straight into the game. And another reason might be that they just skipped it to prevent anything from getting spoiled. From what we have heard so far, these underground areas play a huge role in the story of this game.

They might not be those divine beasts but something altogether new as imagination seems to be the core element in the sequel. What all fans can do for now is patiently wait for any new and upcoming announcements.
