Based on Naughty Dog’s magnum opus gaming series, the Last of Us television show on HBO Max is garnering high praise from both fans and critics. Looking at the overwhelmingly positive reception of the game, the producers and the showrunners have already pitched for a second season of the show. 

While the first season follows the story of the very first game that was released back in 2013, the next one will be staying true as well and follow the journey from the second installment of the game released back in 2020. The second part of the story also centers around two main protagonists.

However, unlike the first game, part 2 featured two main characters who, instead of having a journey together, were searching for each other to exact vengeance. One of the main leads is Ellie, with whom the audience is very much familiar. The other is Abby, a powerhouse who can’t be stopped by anyone, once she makes up her mind.

The fans who have already played the games are very aware of where the story is going, and what the story will be in the second season. That is why they have already shared who they want to see as the terrifying FireFly, Abigail Anderson. So far, the community has chosen two potential actresses for the role.

According to the Brazilian Twitter fan page of The Last of Us, the fans want Shannon Berry or Florence Pugh for the role of Abby. Shannon Berry is an Australian actress who is known for her rugged character portrayal in Amazon Prime’s hit survival thriller television series The Wilds. Shannon possesses a build similar to that of Abby, making her one of the best choices for the character. 

Florence Pugh is an English theater-trained actress who is best known for her roles in Marvel’s the Black Widow, Midsommar, Little Women, and more. Pugh has a dominating presence and every time she makes her appearance on the screen, fans know they are in for a treat.

Both of the actresses are highly capable and possibly be one of the best choices for the role. However, there haven’t been any updates regarding the cast of Season 2. Which one of them, or if either of them will be able to make it to the second season, can’t be said for sure yet.
