When HBO’s The Last of Us first came out, people could not believe the work producers did on the show. It was one of the first video game adaptations that felt right, especially in terms of capturing the narrative and characters. The show was nothing short of perfect, and the cast played a huge role in making it so.

HBO was spot on when they got Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey on board to play Joel and Ellie respectively. Now, while season 1 is done and dusted, what comes next? There looks to be news on this front, as an actress seems increasingly likely to play a major character from The Last of Us II in the show’s second season.

Abby Anderson was a crucial part of The Last of Us franchise. While largely missing from the first game, she is present in the sequel. She is the daughter of one of the doctors operating on Ellie, the same one Joel kills while rescuing Ellie. According to rumors, Shannon Berry will be taking on the role of Abby, as fans think all the signs point towards the eventuality.

The most prominent reason is her likeness to Abby. The actress does look remarkably similar to the Firefly. Watching her take on the role of Abby will be like seeing the exact version of the character from the game.

While these signs do not confirm her being cast on the show, they indicate positive signs in terms of how season 2 can turn out. As fans may know, Neil Druckmann revealed the show is running on a delayed schedule due to the Writers’ Guild strike. For now, fans can only hope to see an update on September 26, since the date is Outbreak Day from the game. Perhaps we will see Naughty Dog unleash a torrent of information about the new season!
