The Last of Us is all the rage nowadays and everyone everywhere wants to talk just about this popular franchise. The series that is currently airing on HBO Max has a big part to play in this. Fans of the games were already interested in the series, but that hype grew tenfold when people saw the first teaser.
The debut series has been a sensational hit. And for the past month, it has been something that has kept the fans occupied. However, that ends tonight as the final episode is airing on March 12. However, Sony and Naughty Dog are not going to leave their fans hanging and they have been cooking something huge for a while now. And no, it’s not The Last of Us Part 3.

Sony, for the most part, has left PlayStation 4 behind. They have started planning PlayStation 5 exclusive games; they have launched PS VR 2 too, which is strictly meant for the PS5. And a few months from now, we will see Spider-Man 2 as a PlayStation 5 exclusive release too.
All this makes it pretty evident that the PS5 is now Sony’s focus, but it appears there’s one thing that might come to the PS4 yet. That thing is Factions, a multiplayer-only game set in the universe of TLOU. This game will be launching on PlayStation consoles later this year.
Yes, consoles, because this game might have a chance of appearing on Sony’s last-gen console too. And it’s not even surprising; it’s just that, whenever a company develops a live-service multiplayer game, they want it on as many platforms as possible.
And this speculation has been recently cemented by a new source, which noticed a job listing for “Associate Multiplayer Quality Assurance Tester / Development Support” on Naughty Dog’s careers page. This posting clearly states that the requirement for their post is “working knowledge of PS4 and PS5 systems.”

This means that their multiplayer game is cross-gen, so they are looking for someone with knowledge of both systems. Given the amount of time they have spent developing it, it would not be a surprise if this game started its life as a PS4-only title.
