After dominating the realm of single-player games, Naughty Dog is looking to conquer the multiplayer genre.

They picked their magnum opus, The Last of Us, to pave their way into the multiplayer genre. Their efforts to build a multiplayer title, however, are taking more time than expected. And according to an industry insider, fans would have to wait till next year for some news.

An industry insider claims The Last of Us multiplayer won’t be coming this year

In a recent YouTube video from PlayStation expert DomTheBomb, he talked about the much-awaited TLOU Multiplayer title. He did, however, reveal that fans will have to wait until the end of the year to learn more about the title. He said, “It’s very bleak that we are potentially going to even hear anything about this game before the end of the year.”

This reveal has dimmed the hopes of fans looking to play TLOU multiplayer this year. The multiplayer game has been in the works since 2020. And fans are yet to revive any substantial proof about the game.

But DomTheBomb also confirmed Naughty Dog is tirelessly working on the title. The company is actively hiring people to join The Last of Us multiplayer team. On August 19, Naughty Dog posted a job hiring, and DomTheBomb noticed the background image contained TLOU Multiplayer concept art.

When will TLOU Multiplayer arrive?

If the multiplayer title does not arrive this year, fans will be keen to hear when it will. At this point, however, it is hard to point out the exact timeline of the title’s arrival.

But the active hiring for the game spotted by the industry insider comes as a ray of hope for gaming fans. Possibly Naughty Dog might tease some details about the title at the end of this year via a PlayStation Showcase.

But nothing concrete can be said about the game’s arrival date. Fans can enjoy the classic single-player titles from Naughty Dog in the meanwhile.
