The Last of Us will celebrate its 10th anniversary in June. Recently, Naughty Dog, the game’s developers, published a detailed blog post praising the incredible series. They revealed that they have sold over 37 million copies worldwide by December 2022, and the game continues to attract both new and existing players every day.

In the blog post, the devs stated, “We’re looking ahead to The Last of Us’ 10th anniversary in June, and we’re so excited to share more with you about the future of this franchise. We’ll have some fun surprises for you along the way, but later this year we will begin to offer you some details on our ambitious The Last of Us multiplayer game.”

Neil Druckmann, the creative director of the series, also mentioned that the studio will reveal titles closer to their release to avoid overworking the team, hinting at diminishing the crunch culture and more surprises planned for later this year. According to other reports, the multiplayer game is rumored to be called The Last of Us Factions.

TLoU: Factions is an upcoming multiplayer live-service game developed by Naughty Dog, set in The Last of Us universe. Initially, it was a multiplayer mode in The Last of Us 2. However, because of the team’s ambitious plans, it grew into its own separate game.
