When it comes to the best assault rifles in Call of Duty Warzone, there are many options to choose from. However, one in particular, Grau 5.56, is a classic in itself as it’s got a history with the franchise. Especially since the time when Modern Warfare’s Season Two was launched, back in 2020. Now, the legendary weapon has received the best possible improvements in Warzone’s ongoing season.

Grau 5.56 is truly a king in Call of Duty Warzone Season 5

In case anyone missed to keep track, the term Grau has taken the internet by storm in the last few days. There’s a major reason for that and it’s basically connected to the assault rifle Grau 5.56.

With Warzone‘s new Season 5 update, the ZLR weapon emerged as the most buffed-up rifle, to say the least. It becomes a very interesting scenario to witness because so far it was almost in a forgotten state. Ever since it made a debut in Call of Duty Modern Warfare Season 2, the powerful weapon became slightly less significant over time.

As a result of that, most of the players began to prefer other options while customizing their load-outs. However, Call of Duty played a smart move recently while rolling out Season 5 update titled ‘Last Stand‘.

Fans are delighted to see Grau’s growing popularity

In Warzone Pacific Season 5, the developing team made some crucial changes to some of the iconic weapons. And Grau 5.56, to everyone’s surprise, was the most improved rifle among others. To be precise, it’s now received an increased Max Damage of 29, up from 28. Plus, the Max Damage Range has also been pushed further to 1240 from 1200.

Additionally, the Neck Damage Multiplier has been increased as well to 1.15, up from 1.01. Witnessing such an overhaul was surely unbelievable for many players of Call of Duty. However, this is not a coincidence given the fact that Modern Warfare II is just around the corner.

Since Grau was originally revealed in the first installment itself, it made perfect sense for the developers to make it a powerful weapon once again, ahead of the sequel’s debut in October.

Thanks to getting buffed up enormously, Grau has been trending a lot on Twitter.

Eventually, the official Call of Duty account also joined this trend. Having a little fun, the account posted this tweet: “I am Grau-oot” – Season Five.”

It can be termed a nice word play as well, since the tweet follows the iconic line of Marvel character named Groot, whose only way of communicating with others is by saying “I am Groot!”. All things considered, fans were super impressed to see this, while celebrating Grau’s increased effectiveness. “The king is back,” wrote one fan.
