The developers have constantly branded Assassin’s Creed Mirage as a more narrative-focused game compared to its predecessors. While fans and critics subjected Valhalla to a fair share of criticism for various aspects, fans also called out the developers for not exploring the character of Basim in Valhalla. It was back in 2020 that the AC fans had judged the potential of Basim as a strong narrative point for the future of the “Hidden Ones”.

Basim featured in Valhalla as a mentor figure for Eivor. However, there was little to no information given about his motives. Further, his past remained a mystery throughout the game, making him nothing more than an associate character in the Valhalla world. However, the developers had some bright plans for the mentor.

This iconic character was the protagonist of the popular Ezio Trilogy. It consisted of AC2, Brotherhood, and Revelations. Over the span of his appearances in the franchise, the character was critically crowned as the finest virtual written character to date. They attributed the credit to the depth and layers the makers explored in Ezio from 2009 to 2011.

Despite his endearing humor and courageous nature, Ezio was born into privilege and fortune as a Florentine noble. Basim, on the other hand, had to struggle to exist for a lot longer than Ezio since he was orphaned when he was a little boy. This background has not only helped Basim get around the city and avoid detection when required, but also toughened him up. Further, it will make him more ruthless and eventually more successful. Ezio was one of the best, most popular, and most skilled assassins. However, Basim will surely have a new edge to his sword, and we can’t wait to learn more about it.
