The speedrunning community is a totally different kind of gamer. They are one of the few people who know and learn the insides and outs of a game by heart and use them to complete the entire hours-long story in sometimes just a couple of minutes. And this is also with the popular Nintendo games like Super Mario 64 and Pokemon.

Thus, to accomplish these amazing feats, speedrunners use several techniques that help them skip several huge chunks of games, making the game even faster to beat. And one such technique used by speedrunners is called Backward Long Jump, which first appeared in Super Mario 64 and then in Pokemon Arceus, but has finally returned again in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
Infamous glitch from Super Mario 64 returns to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
In Super Mario 64, there was this glitch called the Backward Long Jump, which was basically a trick to jump up the sloppy stairs by jumping and pressing the back button, allowing players to move up slopes and stairs much faster. Now the same glitch was found in the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet that allows players to move up the sloppy hills and terrains very early on in the game.
This has thus allowed players to find a way to complete their game even faster than the intended length of it.
Notably, Pokemon insider, Centro Pokémon, posted the find on Twitter by writing, “A glitch has been discovered in #ScarletViolet that allows scaling early. Normally Koraidon/Miraidon will slip if you try to jump and climb a slope without having the ability, but it turns out it’s as simple as jumping back so it doesn’t slip.”

Notably, this also means that players can skip parts of games where they have to upgrade their Koraidon/Miraidon to climb such steep hills or slopes.
Additionally, this glitch was also found in the critically acclaimed Pokemon Arceus during the initial days, but was soon patched after that.
