Seán William McLoughlin, aka Jacksepticeye, is a gaming YouTuber. He is known for his long Let’s Play series and witty sense of humor. Jack is one of the trailblazers from the old days of YouTube who contributed to making the gaming scene so prominent on the platform. He is considered one of the big three of YouTube gaming, including Markiplier and PewDiePie.
Jack made his channel “Jacksepticeye” back in 2007. But he started uploading videos in November 2012. His first video was very different from his current content. In that initial video, Jack impersonated the legendary soldier, Snake, from Hideo Kojima’s popular game series, Metal Gear Solid.
In 2013, Jack received a boost on the platform, as he was mentioned in one of PewDiePie’s videos. Because of his shout-out, Jack’s sub count went from 2500 to 15000 in just four days. And as the channel continued its growth, Sean decided to make a full-time career out of making videos. By 2014, Jack had accumulated a million subscribers and in 2015 he managed to hit the massive milestone of getting a billion total views on his channel.
Jacksepticeye thinks the audience and the creators are losing touch
As time moved forward, Jack evolved his content and his approach. In an interview with Trash Taste, Jack shared how much he used to push himself in his earlier days. He told how he was obsessed with putting up at least two videos each and every day for years. This strain and pressure had started to break his will and make him feel burned out.
In the recently posted video on the official Jacksepticeye channel, he revealed his thoughts on the current YouTube meta. He shared how he thinks that the audience and the creators have been losing the connection between them.

He said, “that sort of bond that we had has dwindled over years.” According to him, the reason behind this is the oversaturation of the platform as every day more and more people are pouring in on his videos and flooding the comment section, making it hard for him and any other creator to follow their audience’s thoughts.

He explicitly said in the future of the Jacksepticeye channel, he will be doing only things that will strengthen the bond between him and his fans and not caring about what others are doing or what the trends are.
