Whether working, studying, or playing games, every person can enjoy a constant stream of LoFi beats in the background while being productive. In the genre, one of the most popular creators is a YouTube channel named LoFi Girl, who, after launching their brand new venture, shocked even the big dogs like MrBeast. 

After a series of teases on Twitter and an elaborate announcement featuring an animated trailer, fans witnessed the arrival of the new “LoFi Boy” through the eyes of the titular LoFi Girl. This new character started the brand new live session of the LoFi Synthwave, which, unlike traditional LoFi, features much more electronic beats.

The LoFi Girl had become an icon in the internet culture. There have been countless memes, artworks, and more about the anime avatar of the LoFi channel. This is why it was only obvious that the launch of their new venture would be recorded in internet history, sending (Synth) waves across the world wide web. 

Alongside fans, the YouTube behemoth was also shocked by the new revelation. MrBeast coined this new era of LoFi Girl as “the biggest thing to happen since Pewdiepie Vs Tseries” comparing it with the worldwide internet phenomenon that was also one of the reasons behind MrBeast’s boost in the online content creation industry.

From 2018 to 2019, a war was waged between the previous most subscribed content creator on YouTube, PewDiePie vs the Indian Music Label, T-Series. Their battle for gaining the most subscribers on the platform soon became a worldwide phenomenon. Although it started as a harmless meme war, eventually the scope became bigger than Pewds had ever anticipated. This resulted in many controversial acts by the participants.

“honestly, I love them…I love the way they revealed it and I’m so glad that there are now two styles of “chill” music streams. Also when they first did the reveal, the lo-fi stream had muted drums of the same songs as the synthwave one, which was honestly so cool,” said Twitter user Virtue, appreciating the brand new LoFi era. Many other LoFi fans also joined the train.
