Since 2019, Amouranth gained massive viewership as she reigned over Twitch multiple times. She crossed Pokimane twice, becoming the most-viewed streamer for months. Plus, her business talks, tacky investment ideas, and ASMR streams played a pivotal role, helping her inspire more and more audiences daily. But back in 2019, when she was about to blow up on Twitch, a terrible mistake paved the way for controversy.

Amouranth once had a 300,000 Twitch mistake

In 2019, Kaitlyn Siragusa, aka Amouranth, was finding ways to upscale her content. She was on the lookout for variety, exploring different fields to entertain fans. And while she excelled in doing so, she slipped into a terrible controversy during a live stream.

While streaming on Twitch, the streamer accidentally revealed too much of her body, leading to a platform ban. The Amazon-owned company suspended her account for a week as her stunt was against their guidelines. This was a major backlash in her career as she was on the verge of becoming an established creator. So, fans were not happy with the platform, expressing their sadness in all ways possible.

Rising and falling on Twitch ratings

Their support somehow paved the way with time, as her return turned out to be a record-breaking event in the esports industry. Upon return, Amouranth grabbed over 410,000 followers on Twitch. However, her success fickled away in minutes as it looked like her viewers walked away. Here’s how they initially looked.

But with time, Amo lost over 300,000 followers bringing her back to similar counts. “It’s literally impossible to predict what will blow up on the internet. This banning drama has made me more relevant than everything I’ve ever done combined,” she wrote in a tweet.

It felt like the followers were nothing but bots as multiple streamers faced this issue in time. So, Twitch removed their account, resulting in a 300,000 loss. Still, her channel seemed to gain 40,000 followers, a positive number that settled things down.

For those uninitiated, streamers and content creators fall prey to such events as bots attacking their streams. This causes a sudden increase in viewership or follower count, which can hamper the channel’s look. However, one can remove them with proper requests and functions as platforms guide the process.
