Hellena Taylor, who’s popularly known as the iconic voice behind the character of Bayonetta, recently took to Twitter to reveal a shocking truth about why she didn’t become a part of the upcoming game. In a series of videos, the VA shared the details on how the makers offered her an unimaginably lower wage for the third installment.

Hellena Taylor reveals Platinum allegedly offered her only $4,000 for the entirety of her work on Bayonetta 3

In case anyone is not aware, Hellena Taylor has been the voice of the main protagonist Cereza since 2009. On her official Twitter account, she recently posted a thread involving various clips while talking about the third installment’s developer.

The voice actress revealed that she chose to refuse the offer to work on Bayonetta 3 because the makers offered her a payment of just $4,000. While outlining her credentials, she said that she felt really hurt by such a treatment. According to her, it was “an insult to me and to the amount of time I took to work on my talent and everything that I have given to this game and the fans.”

While talking about what made her reject the role of Bayonetta in the third entry, the VA said that she did it “to stand up in solidarity with people all over the world who do not get paid properly for their talents.”

Hellena Taylor also revealed that she suffered from anxiety and had suicidal thoughts due to this situation. Because she was worried that she would go out of work if she didn’t accept the offer.

Last week it was confirmed that instead of Hellena, actress Jennifer Hale was the voice of Cereza in the third offering. Although she wished the best for the new actress in her career, Taylor said in her video that Jennifer “has no right to say she’s the voice of Bayonetta.” In the end, the VA even urged everyone to boycott the upcoming Nintendo Switch exclusive.

Meanwhile, ardent franchise lovers came up with furious reactions to the makers of B3. The majority of them were in complete disbelief after knowing that even famous voice artists like Hellena are struggling to earn well. They slammed the developing studio for insulting Hellena by offering a mere $4,000 for her entirety of work. “That is insanely insulting. I can’t believe this…,” wrote a streamer.
