Nintendo fans this year are eagerly waiting for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom to hit the shelves. Undoubtedly, it is one of the most celebrated Nintendo franchises. Fans have been waiting for this title soon after the release of the prequel, Breath of the Wild. Finally, the game would release this year on May 12.

As the release date is nearing, it’s getting hard for the fans to wait for the game. It is one of the most talked about video games besides the newly released Hogwarts Legacy. Nintendo fans are paying tribute to the Legend of Zelda franchise with various mind-blowing fan art before the release of Tears of the Kingdom.

The Legend of Zelda fanart reimagines Link as a samurai

Fanarts have always been extremely popular among every fandom, as they let the fans express their love for the series with their unique creativity. Many times, fans also tend to reimagine some of their favorite characters in a new form. Like a Nintendo fan recently reimagined as a samurai.

A Redditor named BuBDraw recently shared a fanart, where the Legend of Zelda’s protagonist was a samurai warrior. In the sketch, we could see the iconic Zelda hero but in samurai attire, and he was accompanied by his wolf. It was more amazing to see Link in a samurai outfit, as Zelda is a game by Japanese developers for a console for a Japanese video game company.

Further, the Link in this sketch isn’t from Breath of Wild or the upcoming Tears of the Kingdom. Instead, the fanart was of Twilight Princess’ Link. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is an action-adventure game for GameCube and Wii that came out in 2006. Even in this Zelda game, Link’s quest was to protect the Hyrule Kingdom which was under a threat from an alternate dimension called the Twilight Realm.

The Nintendo fans had nothing but love and compliments to shower on this Zelda fanart. Many fans especially complimented the colors used in this artwork. After seeing the art, one of the fans also voiced how a Japanese-based video game company never thought about a samurai-themed Zelda story.
