When it comes to playing new games, fans can barely contain themselves. Immediately signing up for closed betas and early access, it does not take too much to get fans excited about new games. As a result, it is not uncommon to see developers invite fans to limited testing for new games. However, when the upcoming title Tekken 8 began its closed testing, it saw a whole new series of problems. It encountered people who accessed cracked versions of the game.

Initially announced in September last year, Tekken 8 was a big talking point at PlayStation’s State of Play event. With fans wanting to get their hands on the game, Bandai Namco began closed-testing on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation. It allowed them to see how gamers interact with the title, uncovering any bugs and providing developers the chance to polish up the title.

However, once closed testing started, an entirely new problem emerged. Individuals began accessing cracked versions of Tekken 8. Essentially, cracked versions are illegal, since they are not purchased by people. As a result, Bandai Namco took notice immediately. What they discovered was people using Cheat Engine to manipulate the game’s scripts. This gave them access to the title even beyond the limited-testing time frame.

In response to these activities, Bandai Namco’s Esports Twitter account quickly put out a response. In addition to reminding everyone accessing the cracked version of the game was illegal, they promised repercussions for the same.

With no release date announced from Bandai Namco, it looks like fans will just have to wait.
