Tekken 8 is rumored to change and add a lot of stuff to the next installment that already looks spectacular.
The closed-network test has generated an overwhelming response from fans, confessed Tekken 8’s director Katsuhiro Harada. Discussions also touched upon topics like which character has the best wardrobe to the new fighting style of the characters as well as the roster for Tekken 8.

The San Diego Comic-Con was a successful event. Developers and publishers gave sneak peeks into a plethora of games and upcoming titles. At the event, Katsuhiro Harada, Tekken 8’s director, discussed many details of the franchise’s next title. Tekken 8 has fan anticipation piqued, so such a discussion helped answer a lot of questions and speculations.
Harada talked about a lot of things at Comic-Con 2023. A major portion of the talks revolved around the feedback received from the closed-network testing. From Harada’s comments, it almost seems that the devs feel somewhat nervous about such positive feedback from the community, as in a way this increases the pressure to launch a perfect game. Harada also talked about which move from Tekken is likely to inflict the most pain in real life and which character has the best looks in the game.
Community reacts positively
On being asked what sort of feedback the devs have been getting with the closed tests, over the last months, the director revealed that the devs gave access to a lot of players to get an idea of how the game feels. Harada mentions it was part of Bandai Namco’s strategy to let players get used to the game for a while after announcing Tekken 8.

With the time the players got to settle into the game, the devs received a variety of feedback from the community. The director came clean and confessed that not every reaction has been positive, but that’s part of the game. Furthermore, the negative responses actually help to fix the issues in the game.
He said the closed network test has been a great help. “…right now we have the closed network test going on in the background and we were able to get even more feedback from people“, said Harada.
