Nintendo Switch has been around for over seven years now. It is the second best-selling console created by the Japanese giants Nintendo. So it wouldn’t be surprising to see this renowned hybrid console feature in a movie or TV series. Recently, Nintendo fans got to see some hilarious references from two famous Switch games in the Ted Lasso Season 3 Episode 1.

The much-awaited Season 3 of Ted Lasso is available on Apple TV. It is a sports comedy series that revolves around an American college football coach, Ted Lasso. He is appointed soccer coach for the English club AFC Richmond to take the English club into the mud. But he instead ended up leading the club to success.

Two Nintendo greats get mentioned in the latest season of Ted Lasso

The latest episode of Ted Lasso started with AFC Richmond’s coach waiting at the airport with his son. While waiting for the flight, his son kept himself busy with a Nintendo Switch. Finally, when the father-son duo gets the call for their flight, they walk to a flight attendant to talk board the flight.

However, the conversation between Ted Lasso and the flight attendant was full of Nintendo references that fans would definitely enjoy when they will see it.

Lasso said, “We got distracted. Little guy was trying to unlock Princess Peach on Super Smash Bros.” To which the flight attendant responded, “Totally understand. I once held an entire flight to Sydney hostage until I finished the final level of Breath of the Wild.”

The flight attendant’s answer concerned but also impressed the American soccer coach. He said, “Feels like a potentially troublesome sentence to say in this setting, but hey, I appreciate you.”

It would be interesting to see more such Nintendo Switch or gaming references in the future. Fans would love to see Lasso’s son play with AFC Richmond on his Nintendo Switch. The show’s popularity also got them a FIFA 23 collaboration. The players can use AFC Richmond and Ted Lasso in the game.
