Developers of the acclaimed Batman: Arkham series have officially announced another push in the release date of their upcoming title Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Although the game was only a few days away from its initial release window, witnessing some recent backlash from the community prompted them to take this approach.
Since the February 2023 PlayStation State of Play, there have been some severe criticisms regarding the game among the community. Many fans had problems with the “online” requirements and micro-transactions in the game. The negative reception outweighed the positive, making the developer rethink their approach.

On Twitter, the official social media handle of Rocksteady said, “We have made the tough but necessary decision to take the time needed to work on getting the game to be the best quality experience for players.” making it clear to the community that the devs have been very aware of the situation and what the fans want.

Rocksteady teased, “There is much more to share in the months ahead and we look forward to seeing you in Metropolis next year.” However, there hasn’t been much information regarding what kind of changes there will be. Devs have made it clear that they heard about the community’s quarries but they didn’t reveal anything about them.
This latest delay is the second for the game, as back in 2022, it was delayed to Spring 2023. With the rising controversy regarding the game’s requirement of constant online connection, battle pass, and micro-transactions following the PlayStation State of Play, there had been rumors of a looming delay.
Although the rumors became reality, the situation still lacks clarity. Fans speculate that Rocksteady will most probably work on the live service elements, but Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier noted that these kinds of delays are mostly for “polishing” reasons than reworking the core gameplay and mechanics of the title.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, which was previously scheduled for May 26, 2023, will now be released on February 2, 2024. Now it is not sure if there will be a delay beyond that. There are other rumors that are stating it might extend further. But we can only hope for the best for the sake of the fans.
The Fans were blessed by the delay
Instead of raging, fans actually supported the action by Rocksteady. They advised the devs to take as much as they need to make the game they had been promised.
Take your time, we’ll wait.

Please take the time you need. Can't ever be easy to make a decision like this but if it's for the betterment of the game, we can wait. ❤️

A very significant delay, please
– remove the looting
– remove the battle pass
– remove the always online requirementIf these aren't addressed, the game will face the same poor reception
