Modding has been a considerable part of the gaming community as it allows the fans to experience the game in a new light. The Grand Theft Auto series has been one of the games with the most mods. There are over thousands of enjoyable mods for the GTA series.

What Luke Ross has to say about the DMCA takedown notice from Take-Two?
The modder Luke Ross is famous for introducing virtual reality into video games. He even added VR mods to Take-two’s games like GTA V, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Mafia III. However, he recently shared that his Patreon channel, where he uploads his mods, got a complaint from Take-Two.

Ross even revealed that his mods make Rockstar’s games more enjoyable for fans. And his mod requires fans to own the official game first. So, he only helped with the company’s sales. Ross shared, “I don’t sell or host anything exploiting or repurposing their original IP and assets, and my mods only work if the user already owns a legal copy of their original games.”

Is anyone surprised? @Take2Interactiv has never cared about consumers, hence why the continue to release the same title with no changes over and over. It’s all about the money for them.

This is only to make sure that in the *minor* chance Take two decide to make their own VR ports, they won’t have competition, but most likely they’ll never put that amount of time or care into their own products

We need some legal minds to look at this because is cannot see how Luke’s mods, in any way violate copy right law

Watch them release GTA V and RDR2 VR versions for 70 bucks but both are gonna be somehow crappy and worse than the free mods.
Just like how it was with the remaster mods

Very sad that Take Two dont support VR in his games and quit us vr mods for money facts. @LukeRoss_00 money is for VR mods not for game. @Take2Interactiv
waiting your PC VR support. 🙁 Fact: VR mods sell your games. It is frustrating and incredible.— Reverquest VR (@ReverquestVR) July 6, 2022
This usually means they plan to release their own VR or that they think these mods were too popular and distracted from their new sales.
Basically saying your mods are like new games and people enjoy them too much, I need them to focus on my next release.— ProxCQ (@Prox_CQ) July 7, 2022
I think it's a way for them to focus on developing the mods themselves. If that's the case, why not broker a deal with @LukeRoss_00 as a freelance developer or outrightly buy from him. Wouldn't that work?
Classic case of whales and sharks in the business world.

Take-Two’s action has raised an uproar among the gaming community. Many game-developing companies like Bethesda and CD Projekt RED are getting modders on board to improve their games. Take-Two should consider this and get these modders on board to make their games better.
