Renowned Fortnite player SypherPK has come up with a brilliant idea for a new building piece. The game currently has 4 primary building pieces, and they are the roof, the floor, the stairs, and the wall. With these building pieces, players can build structures to suit different strategic purposes. And the piece SypherPK has come up with could surely enhance the building mechanics of the game. His idea for the new piece is a Pillar.

Syper also have given this matter some thought as within the first few minutes of the video, he reveals how players will be able to use the pillar. Turns out, the pillar(s) can be used both vertically and horizontally. This means there’ll be plenty of offensive as well as defensive strategic options that could be considered when using these pillars. For instance, players could use them to hide behind or to peek and shoot.

In the video itself, SypherPK mentions that it is not easy to just bring a new piece into the game as it would necessitate control changes. If a new building piece is introduced, new keys would have to be dedicated to it. And that means players would have to learn how to use the pillar as well as the controls associated with it. Plus, all of that might make the game more convoluted for newer players.

There are also other people, who use consoles and phones, to be considered. You can’t introduce a new piece in your PC game and not on all the other devices that run the same game.

But a lot of pros, like Sypher himself, are rooting for a change in the building mechanics of the game. “A new way to build and kind of experience,” he says, emphasizing the need for something new in terms of the building aspect of the game. Fortnite has listened to SypherPK before, will they listen to him again?
