The reason is its creative new ideas and its world-altering set of features that players can use to transverse and such. Numerous new pickups, abilities, and level designs, everything worked together to make this game the success that it is. After the players, even the sales seem to be in agreement with it.

When Nintendo revealed Super Mario Bros. Wonder, curiosity peaked among gamers. Despite enjoying the game, the decision of buying it or not remained like a looming question. Recent updates point out that they did buy it, though! The game has turned out to be a successful endeavor for Nintendo, being the first original 2D Mario game on the Nintendo Switch.

Upon its launch, Nintendo Switch’s 3D Mario adventure, Super Mario Odyssey, sold 2.15 million in its first week. The game was reportedly selling 463 copies per minute. Eventually, the game would go on to sell 26 million copies. No one had expected Super Mario Bros. Wonder to reach these numbers.

Being a 2D game, many saw it as inferior to its preceding game. But the game has already sold 4.3 million copies in two weeks since its launch. It appears the game is matching its 3D sibling toe to toe. This goes on to say that Super Mario is a winner, no matter what.

The success of the game has also inclined Nintendo to see it as a sign that fans still love playing these exciting 2D Mario titles. And here’s hoping these games get crazier with every new installment.

Given that Nintendo is experiencing success with every game that it develops, it only makes sense that they would expect the upcoming Super Mario RPG remake to sell equally well.
