A new development adds to the musical quotient of the Super Mario Bros. animated film
Inside the Mario world, Toad is a humanoid mushroom character. Moreover, Keegan-Michael Key will be seen playing the role of Toad. And while the world saw a glimpse of his performance in the trailer, he has made a revelation about what he did for the film.

In a Tweet by the account Wario64, this development got highlighted. Citing from the article of the organization Variety, the tweet said, “I got to improvise a song in ‘Super Mario Bros.,’ which was an absolute blast. That was just a stick of fun, that whole thing.”
Moreover, in the same article, Key said, “I was working on the voice with my partner and trying to find the voice through the internal journey of the character. And then with the directors [Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic], we sprinkled some things in, we moved it around.”
Thus, it can be said that the fans could possibly be seeing a personal touch of Key in his role as Toad. And the reactions of the fans to the tweet evidently portray their excitement. Here are some replies that the people left on the tweet:
Hearing that the actors had the freedom to put their own spin on the characters and having fun in the process is a great sign imo. This is movie is gonna be awesome

Another star who has admitted to having added a personal touch to the respective character
While the film dances on the musical notes of Toad, there is another co-host who has admitted to having added a personal touch as well. And it’s none other than Jack Black. Known for his musical prowess, Jack had voiced the way he brought his “heavy metal root” to the antagonist Bowser.
He exclaimed that Bowser is a kind of heavy metal rockstar. And that the audience will be surprised to see the musical side of the villain. Thus, one would comfortably be able to relish the musical tone of Super Mario Bros.
