The cast of the movie features some of the biggest names in the industry, such as Jack Black, Anya Taylor Joy, and Chris Pratt. Pratt plays the title character of the movie. Although the fans had some criticisms regarding the decision of casting an American actor for the role of an Italian plumber, the confidence that the directors have in him has somewhat given hope to the loyal fans.

As the release date of the anticipated movie comes near, the cast and crew are all busy promoting the movie in full throttle. From talk show appearances to gaming with A-list Youtubers, the promotion campaign is going very strong. The main character cast Chris Pratt has been very active in making appearances and sharing thoughts in interviews.
Recently Pratt sat with The Hollywood Reporter and talked about his journey working in Super Mario Bros. Movie. Pratt said how surreal it was when he was first approached by the producers of the movie. He felt immense joy but at the same time, he could feel the pressure as he knew how big this character is for people.
“I was pretty nervous when they offered it to me. I thought, ‘Wow, let’s not screw this up,’” said Pratt. “That’s where it all comes from, I think. People are passionate about this character and they’ve probably seen some of their favorite IP getting screwed up. It’s kind of a cynical business. People make movies just because a title has reach.”
Chris said, knowing the reach that Mario has around the world and how adored the characters are, he had the hunch that people could be making this movie just for an easy cash grab. But working in ‘The Lego Movie’, he understood that some people could actually make great movies out of popular IPs if they are passionate enough. That is what led him to accept the offer.

“So it’s a big challenge. Just because something has reach doesn’t mean it’s going to be a good movie and there’s instances of people making bad movies and ruining people’s childhoods. So the pressure was on to not do that and, thankfully, we didn’t. I think the movie is fantastic and I think your childhood is firmly intact,” assured Chris Pratt that the Super Mario Bros. Movie hasn’t ‘screwed’ people’s childhood.
