Smets has been with the developing studio for 20 long years. She has been a vital member behind all of Guerrilla’s success over the years. Smets even served as the executive producer for the studio’s biggest hit, the Horizon franchise. She also acted in the same role for the Killzone series.

“These past two decades at Guerrilla have been an absolute dream. I feel privileged to have worked alongside some of the smartest and coolest people in the industry. I’m so grateful for everything I’ve learned alongside all the other Guerrillas. We have accomplished so much as a team, and I’m incredibly proud of all the games we’ve shipped together,” said Smets, sharing her heartfelt gratitude towards the team.

While Smets will be moving on to her next great venture with PlayStation as their new Head of Development Strategy, her absence will be very loud in the Guerrilla studios, especially for their Horizon franchise. Being one of the senior-most members of the series’ development team, Smets’ contribution to the game’s development was very vital and it would be a challenge for the studio to find an adequate replacement for her place.
