Capcom has made Street Fighter 6 very different from its predecessors. They have added a brand-new feature to this game called the Drive Gauge and Meter. This new feature gives players new depth in this otherwise straightforward game. A game about beating each other by punching and kicking in scenic locations turns into a much more strategic affair thanks to this newly added feature.

The drive meter feature, in a nutshell, allows players to unlock a bunch of new moves.

Drive Impact

This is an attack that gives a player the ability to block oncoming attacks of their opponents. The player can also use it to put an opponent in the corner and gain the uppper hand in a losing fight.

Drive Parry

This is the most powerful defensive move in the game. If it is performed perfectly, the player ends up getting no damage at all at the cost of half their drive meter. To use this move effectively though, one must use it at the very moment an opponent attacks.

Overdrive

It is a special move. The EX moves from previous games are now known as overdrive and unleash an unlockable devastating attack that can put most opponents at half health in an instant.

For those who are not quick enough to parry but fast enough to block an attack, this is the best option. It’s a counterattack that allows the player to cause decent damage while negating much of the damage that they take.

Depending on the character, each of these attacks would be different in some way. Each of these attacks would also cost a part of Drive Meter, but almost all of them can come in handy in one situation or another.
