The highly anticipated latest mainline entry of the legendary fighter, Street Fighter 6, is almost here. In the sixth installment, devs at Capcom have opted to take a modern approach and give the franchise a ‘streets’ makeover. From Graffitti-inspired art style and use of vivid colors, there are bold new visual changes to the classic characters, SF 6 is all set to be a Street Fighter game for the new generation. 

In a recent reveal, Capcom unveiled that an upcoming demo for the game will be available for the players. Currently, it is public for PS4 and PS5 users and soon players on other platforms will be able to download it. This new showcase also revealed details regarding the upcoming year 1 DLC fighters and the single-player campaign mode, “World Tour”.

The new Demo will give a glimpse of the “world tour” mode alongside the “Fighting Ground” mode. Players will be able to create their own customized fighter using the avatar creator and become a part of the Street Fighter world. The fighter created in the demo could be imported into the full game, releasing on June 2, 2023. 

Currently, the demo is available on PS 4 and PS 5, other platforms such as Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and Steam will get it on April 26. The full release will feature 18 fighters: Luke, Jamie, Manon, Kimberly, Marisa, Lily, JP, Juri, Dee Jay, Cammy, Ryu, E. Honda, Blanka, Guile, Ken, Chun-Li, Zangief, and Dhalsim.

New fighters will be added through DLCs. The Year 1 DLC will feature newcomers as well as classic names. SF 5’s Rashid will be the first to join in the summer of 2023. He will be followed by the new fighter, A.K.I. in Autumn 2023. Street Fighter 4/5’s Ed will be the third DLC character, coming in the Autumn 2023. And last but not least, the legendary Akuma will finally join the roster in Spring 2024.

All these fighters will be available in the world tour mode. Players can interact with them to learn their moves and backstory. The “World Tour” is promised to have an “overarching story” with “RPG” elements that will immerse the players into the world of Street Fighter and give them a chance to become legendary martial artists on their own by learning from the Greats such as Chun-Li, Ken, and others. Players will be able to challenge others on the streets of the campaign and fight as bystanders will flock to witness their glory.
