Ever since its official announcement, Activision’s new Call of Duty premium has gained massive hype on the internet. Thanks to the leaks and rumors, fans can’t keep themselves from discussing about its expected content. Speaking of content, the upcoming game is set to feature a lot of interesting elements this year, alongside a unique Zombies mode!

Last month, Sledgehammer’s team unveiled an extended look at Modern Warfare III during the Gamescom event. However, fans didn’t get to see anything from the Zombies-based experience. Considering that, the makers have just recently dropped a new trailer, solely focusing on the undead and their origin in the rebooted Modern Warfare universe. Moreover, it has also revealed crucial mission players will be a part of upon entering the Zombies mode – Operation Deadbolt.

The latest trailer has unleashed tons of details while confirming them as well. Some of the familiar faces have also returned such as Viktor Zakhaev. The Ultranationalist arms dealer, and an enemy of Task Force 141, is back with his evil plans. He can be seen using a vial containing Aetherium, while spreading the Incursion in an area. The latter ends up turning the dead and living individuals into Zombies.

Interestingly, a blog has also been shared alongside the new trailer. Its main purpose is to reveal important intel on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III Zombies. Among other things, it also reveals that one of the key members from Task Force 141 in MWII, Soap, is going to have a face off with the undead soon. And that he will be accompanied by SSO Kate Laswell in this mission. To be precise, it will be called Operation Deadbolt.

Initially, Deadbolt was created following the events of Outbreak seen in Black Ops Cold War. Now it’s going to continue with a new team featuring Laswell, Soap, an unknown Operator, and Captain Sergei Ravenov. The latter is a returning character from Cold War. A new character in SSO Selma Greene is going to be the de facto commander of this operation.

What’s in store for fans in Modern Warfare III Zombies mode?

So far, it’s been confirmed that the upcoming mode will be a PvE experience. Players will need to go against hordes of Zombies, while forming teams with other players. They will be required to loot items and make a successful extraction in the end.

Moreover, the Zombies mode will also make fans go against some of the most iconic enemies in franchise history. As for the objectives, they will be part of the Operation Deadbolt. Their main focus will be to stop Zakhaev from fulfilling his motives. In terms of the lore, MWIII will feature a new iteration of the Dark Aether story from the Black Ops sub-series.

It will be interesting to see how players will tackle the challenges of this open-world mode. Especially, when it comes to completing Operation Deadbolt in order to counter the threat caused by the affected zone.
