Starfield has, without doubt, earned the tag of the most-awaited title of the year. The hype around the upcoming Sci-Fi exploration is surreal. Since the title was announced at the Xbox Showcase, it hasn’t stopped trending on social media. But its stellar sales projection might be turning out heavy on fan pockets.

Understanding the bankability of Starfield, Xbox has also ensured all the efforts to promote it. This includes the release of an exclusive constellation edition. However, the Starfield special edition console was sold out in no time when it went live. Now some Scalpers are reselling the constellation edition. As intriguing as the offer might sound, the pricing has a shocking catch.

The Constellation edition is a classic customized console that fans would love to have to experience the gameplay. Starfield as advertised is all about making the correct choices, enhancing the narrative of the immersive gameplay. A console that is meant to match all the cosmic vibes can be the cherry on the cake. But unfortunately, there’s a heavy price demanded in return. After Bethesda announced the limited edition, fans had speculated about the price surge in advance.

The scalper reselling pattern has been quite regular in recent years. Due to limited supplies of the console, scalpers have swooped in. They have listed the customized Starfield console on eBay with absurd pricing rates. A console that costs $299.9 in retail went up to as high as 420 dollars.

The massive difference of 120 dollars was enough to keep the fans disheartened and agitated. Adding to that some fans also claimed that the initial prices were as high as 700 dollars. It was later when the Scalpers decided to bring the range down due to absolute backlash.

The gaming community is still waiting for the official restocking at major retailers. Considering the high demand, getting a constellation edition from the retailer isn’t a cakewalk either. While most of the gamers backed off paying the extra cash on eBay, some couldn’t resist the trade. The black price surge is just another sign of how strongly impactful the hype of Starfield has been in the community.

Will Starfield live up to expectations?

Bethesda Softworks’ sci-fi title is one of the most hyped-up games for the ongoing year. It has so many expectations attached to it that fans are already ready to label it as the Game of The Year. Given these high expectations, many fans have now started to become doubtful of it. Though Bethesda has promised a largely bug-free gaming experience with Starfield, given the record of other hyped-up projects like CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077, some gamers have now backed out of pre-orders.
