Starfield is the next ambitious AAA title from the house of Bethesda. The game was first announced at Bethesda’s E3 Press Conference in 2018 and we finally got a glimpse of the game in June this year.
The game will be an Xbox exclusive and is slated for launch in late 2022. While the details surrounding the game are pretty sparse, a recent announcement by creative director Todd Howard at the Xbox held Tokyo Game Show 2021 sheds some light on the enormity of the upcoming title.
Todd Howard says that Starfield will have over 150,000 lines of dialogue
In the recently concluded Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2021, Bethesda’s creative director Todd Howard took the stage and shared some insights about the game’s development. As per the game director, Starfield has more than 150,000 lines of dialog as well as a complete Japanese voiceover. Todd even said that the game will feature more than 300 actors, making it one of the biggest games by the studio.

When compared to other titles from Bethesda, Starfield’s dialogue count is well ahead of the pack. Fallout 4 had a total of 110,000 lines of dialogue, while Skyrim’s dialogue count was just around 60,000 lines. Therefore, Starfield is going to be bigger and might also include a lot of design choices.
Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, another very popular and massive RPG developed by CD Projekt Red was packed with things to do and unique RPG elements. The game had 450,000 words and over 900 actors. Starfield developers could take some inspiration from Witcher 3 like the side activities and world exploration and improve on those.
