The early access of Starfield is live for Xbox and PC. As expected, the game is dominating all the headlines in the gaming world. With the early access, the countdown to the gigantic launch has begun. The tie-up of Bethesda with AMD seems to have fit perfectly well with the community. Although other GPU owners have found themselves in a tough place. Well, not for long with this latest revelation.

Being one of the biggest games ever made does come with its own limitations. The major issue with a game of this scale is the access to the community. Nvidia GPUs use the Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) function for their RTX cards. While the Bethesda giant wasn’t meant to support upscaling for AMD alternates, PureDark has emerged as a hero with a newly developed mod. They created a mod that replaces reliance on FSR2 with DLSS or XeSS. Now, with this specific Starfield mod, gamers can access upscaling of the graphics on either RTX GPU systems or even Intel GPU systems.

At the time of launch, Starfield could only run on the most recent AMD GPU FidelityFX Super Resolution Tech (FSR2). The specific required GPU allows the players to run the gameplay in the core intended way without disturbing any graphics and visuals on the PC.

Basically, AMD’s FSR2 upscales the graphics to as high as 4k on PC, making it an ideal choice for the experience. The issue is for the systems running on Nvidia’s RTX Graphic Cards, Starfield doesn’t support the similar upscaling function. Thus, compromising the experience for a share of the gamers.

Limitation of this upscaling feature

However, it is important to note that the efficiency of upscaling would also rely on other various PC factors. The smoothness of the attribute would be related to other essentials of the gamer’s PC setup. For a comparatively weaker CPU, the upscaling feature might go unnoticeable. But with an ideal eligible setup for the open-world RPG, fans would witness an exceptional difference in graphics and visuals.

Fans had speculated the AMD exclusivity for Starfield to not last for too long. According to the reports, the newly developed mod was released just an hour after the early access went live for the community.
