Starfield right now is arguably the most hyped game in the world. The preloading process has already started for this highly anticipated Bethesda title. For Xbox consoles and PCs, preloads started on August 17, 2023. For Steam users, they have to wait until August 30th to get the game preloaded.

Meanwhile, to keep the fans engaged, Microsoft has released interesting things like Star-themed Series X wraps. After the preloading, all it comes down to is the final step, which is the release. Starfield is going to be released on September 6th. This release is not only the introduction of this anticipated title; it can also serve as a red carpet for other first-party titles as well.

Mircosoft’s head of gaming, Phil Spencer, recently said that, so far, 2023 is quite dry as far as Xbox releases are concerned. Although Arkane’s vampire shooter, Redfall, launched in May, couldn’t live up to the expectations.

But from now on, the release of Starfield will open the portal to an array of Xbox releases afterward. In a recent interview with GamesIndustry.biz, the Chief Marketing Officer of Xbox, Jerret West, said that he is super excited about upcoming lineups after Starfield. He stated, “This is, in my mind, the doorway, almost like a starting gun, to what I think is going to be a multi-year relay race of first-party titles.

West thinks this is the beginning of a new era at Xbox. After the release of this highly anticipated space exploration title, it’s Forza Motorsport from Turn 10 Studio that will make its way on October 10, 2023. Then comes 2024, with so many huge titles. We can expect to see Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 by Ninja Theory, the co-op action-adventure title Towerborne, and an action RPG from Obsidian Entertainment, named Avowed, in 2024. The story doesn’t end here, as according to West, “we’ve got stories we haven’t told yet as well, that are going to unfold in 2024 and 2025,” apart from these releases.

West also emphasized the support of third-party studios. This is not only important for Xbox-exclusive games but also for the Game Pass as well. He concluded his assuring words by saying, “I think we are entering a period where this is the beginning of something that’s going to be really special over the course of the next several years.”
