It’s been two months since Starfield was released. During this time, millions of players have spent countless hours in Bethesda’s highly anticipated game. Considering the massive size of Starfield, it’s only natural that players will need more time than usual to come across every last detail in the game. However, players have been complaining lately that a bug in the game doesn’t let them take on several quests.
Starfield has over 1,000 planets, most of which can be explored by players. To cross the galactic stretches, players have been modifying their spaceships even before the game was released. While the customization options are making the game highly enjoyable for many, others are not happy with how they’re being blocked out from quests.

Bugs and glitches are some of the most feared words in the gaming community. While a game can be released to incredible hype, such things can ruin the entire experience. With games becoming bigger than ever, bugs have also evolved to make the game faulty in unique ways. In a Reddit group, a fan recently shared their experience of being denied to play almost a dozen missions in Starfield because of bugs in the game.
The image attached above is taken from a Reddit post where several reasons can be noticed for the missions not progressing. These range from crucial NPCs not spawning to not getting dialog options at pivotal junctures in the game. While Starfield does have many other things for players to stay engaged, such unprecedented bugs can make the entire experience stale, especially with the hype and excitement that surrounded Starfield for months before its release.
Historically speaking, Bethesda titles are notorious for being infested with glitches. Granted, such bugs often create some incredibly funny moments in the games, but Starfield’s massive scope and scale made many fans believe that this would be more or less a pristine release.
Fans share their experiences
One Redditor thinks that Bethesda should have tested the game more extensively before its release. Being unable to finish quests is all right, but players should have the option to delete the trash once they’ve spotted it.
Another Starfield player had enough of the bugs and decided to simply move on. But future developments may see them coming back once again.
However, not everyone has decided to clean their hands from Starfield with such experiences. Many push through simply because of how great the overall game feels.
