Every game has its ardent fans, and in some cases, even developers have a very dedicated fanbase that would play just about anything they put out. This is the kind of fandom Bethesda enjoys, and rightfully so; their Elder Scrolls games have given them the reputation of a developer that can hardly go wrong. That’s why many are dead sure Starfield will be a groundbreaking success.
While many fans await the launch of this title, one fan missed the launch by a long shot. A fan who was waiting for this game to launch until last year but did not have much time left.

Starfield is no doubt going to be a success, and the game would also be something of a milestone for developer Bethesda. It has a number of things that the developer is doing for the first time ever. For one, it is their first-ever RPG that is set in space!
Then they would, for the first time, allow players to be space pirates and do as they want. Visually, too, this game is going to be something of a breakthrough. The first ever Bethesda game was built upon their newly built Creation Engine 2. This engine has introduced a myriad of new graphical features to the game, along with ray-tracing support. It has also given the game a brand-new AI director for a more immersive experience.
But not every fan would be fortunate enough to be able to play this game. A hardcore Bethesda fan by the name of Alex Hay passed away last year while waiting for the launch of Starfield. He was, in fact, very excited about this game; he was so excited that he got himself an Xbox and was going through his cancer treatment while playing games on that console.
When the game’s launch was previously announced for November 2022, he was hopeful. But when Bethesda decided to postpone the game, he accepted the fact that he would not be able to play it. He even penned an emotional post about this one on Reddit, and after some time, he passed away.

While many might have forgotten about him, his fellow Bethesda fans remember him. They reminded everyone in the Starfield subreddit of Alex Hay.

These kinds of things are naturally more relatable to many than anything else. Here’s hoping Alex Hay rests in peace, and let’s dedicate our first playthrough of this upcoming game to a fan who died wanting to play it.
