On X (formerly Twitter), a recent post from Gene Park has the community intrigued. In the post, they uploaded a video and made a statement saying, “the Spider-verse 12 fps feature from Miles Morales can now be applied to Peter Parker as well.”

This is yet another addition to the list of things for players to explore in the game. While 12 fps sounds like a nightmare number for gamers, when it comes to how Insomniac Games has implemented it, it is absolutely stunning.

In the uploaded clip, players can see Spider-Man swinging across the city, but something seems different. The web swinging looks like it’s a stop-motion animation which gives fans an animated vibe. This aesthetic of the frames being slow makes the game and this has fans amazed.

The feature is not only used to reduce the FPS but also to slow down time. Players can slow down time by 70%, 50%, and 30% by assigning the keys in order to do so.

This news sparked a fire among fans, and many of them were quick to share their excitement. The post started gaining massive traction and reached over a million views within the first 24 hours. This brought in players to share their thoughts on the feature and some even dropped a few funny comments to keep the community entertained.

Excitement in the crowd grows along with anticipation

With the entire post focusing on the feature to slow down the FPS, one fan noticed something else. Funnily enough, that turned out to be the most viewed comment on the post. Instead of discussing the FPS, this fan was more surprised to know that all the in-game HUDs could be turned off.

Another user showed their excitement for the feature but made a comment on Twitter’s video compression not doing justice to the clip.

The post also created some confusion with one user trying to understand if the post meant 24 fps instead of 12. But that was soon clarified by the original poster.

One player drew reference to the Spider-verse art and animation style and complimented the feature for it.

One of the features promoted by Insomniac Games is the improved seamless fast travel system. While it looks great, one user still feels that it would be better to swing instead.
