The year 2023 is looking to be a thrilling one for the video game industry, led by PlayStation and Xbox and their eagerly awaited exclusive releases. Numerous new games were presented at the most recent PlayStation Showcase, but Insomniac’s Spider-Man 2 stood out. 

On the other hand, Xbox is getting ready to make a statement with their upcoming title, Starfield, which will be unveiled in the coming Showcase. Since it is Bethesda Game Studios’ first new intellectual property in more than 25 years, the sci-fi adventure game has been causing quite a stir among gamers. Starfield, according to director Todd Howard, is “Skyrim in space” and promises to give players a comprehensive and engrossing experience.

PlayStation and Xbox fans wage war on social media

Both Spider-Man and Starfield are a lot more than just fan favorites. The love for these IPs is so high that people can wage wars to prove which one is better. And the added competition between PlayStation and Xbox is just more fuel to the flame. 

The feud began when a Twitter user said, “Spider-Man 2 will sell more than Starfield. It has more hype. It has more demand.” and soon hordes of Starfield fanatics and Spider-Man fans jumped into the mix. Another user added, “It will be forgotten in a few hours, while Starfield will continue to be played for years.”

Another fan presented the theory that “If Starfield wasn’t on Gamepass and it wasn’t exclusive to Xbox and PC it could’ve sold more than Spiderman 2.” overall the sentiment was that Starfield may not be able to compete with Spider-Man 2 in terms of sales, but with its vast amount of content, it may be able to hold players longer than Spider-man.

With the legendary team of Peter Parker and Miles Morales facing up against dangerous foes like Kraven the Hunter and Lizard while also introducing the well-known symbiote Venom into the mix, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 promises an action-packed adventure.

On the other hand, Starfield takes players on a sci-fi journey through The Settled Systems, an area extending 50 light-years beyond the Solar System. With its vast open-world exploration and Bethesda’s signature attention to detail, Starfield aims to immerse players in a rich and captivating space adventure.
