The replacement actor model for Spider-Man in the PS5 remastered version disappointed the fans. Originally, the mega-successful 2018’s title featured John Bubniak, someone the fans had grown to love and adore.
However, in the remastered version, Ben Jordan served as a replacement for John, and it didn’t sit well with community. The developers stated that they wanted to cast an actor model who can closely resemble voice actor Yuri Lowenthal.

The voice over actor is hoping for another Spider-Man sequel
In conversation with comicbookmovie, the voice actor shared his thoughts about the replacement and future of the franchise. He shed light on the outbreak of the pandemic, which hindered the project from moving forward.
“I keep waiting for my phone to call. They’ve had the Miles game, and with COVID, there’s no way we can get into a motion-capture on a grand scale with all the actors right now, so I don’t know. I wish I had more to tell you. I wish I had more to tell me.“
The voice actor also talked about the relationships that the wall crawler shares with the roster of characters, especially Mary Jane Watson and Miles Morales.
“I’m just happy continuing to play the character, to explore his new relationship with MJ, to explore his new relationship with Miles, and to explore a relationship of him without May behind him to support him when he needed her. It’s an evolution of a character Insomniac had already taken a big risk and important choice to evolve past where we normally start with Spidey. I’m curious to see where he goes next.”

Yuri shared his thoughts regarding the latest controversy surrounding the replacement of actor model in Spider-Man remastered PS5 version. He stated that the fan’s emotions are understandable, but Insomniac’s reasons behind the changes made complete sense to him.
“I did know it was coming, and I did agree with all the reasons [Insomniac] were going ahead with it. I know that people, once they fall in love with something, for you to change that thing is very hard… and understandably so! There are a lot of people who will always love that original thing best, but I think the reasons they did it were sound, and going forward, the game will benefit.” ‘
Yuri understands that the changes might be too harsh for the fans to accept at the moment, but he hopes things to change. The new character model and strong performances might help the character to grow on the fans soon. If that happens, it will help the franchise to move ahead and take-up different projects and it will finally put the controversy to bed.

Safe to say that with every change that the studios make, they do it with an intent to add more value to the game. Although the community has so far rejected the idea, and it will take sometime for them to get used to the changes.
