Many fans are already calling Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 a Game of the Year contender for this year. When Insomniac Games presented the game at PlayStation Showcase 2023, it had everything the fans needed. The gameplay reveal showed the fans the first glimpse of Venom suit along with the entry of Kraven the Hunter and his goons. Furthermore, the trailer was building up to the entry of Spider-Man’s classic villain, Venom.

And looks like the identity of Venom is now out in the open too. However, everything will be confirmed when the web-slinger returns in the sequel. To make things more interesting, the developers of the game have also confirmed multiple locations available for the players to explore while they are web-slinging.

In an interview with Famitsu, creative director Bryan Intihar dived deeper into the map-making aspects of the sequel. The developers are making the sequel’s playable area twice as big as its predecessor. The game will start off in Manhattan, like the first two games of the series. However, other prominent locations in New York City will also be available for fans to explore.

The first place fans would be free to explore is Brooklyn, the home place of Captain America. Inithar also hinted at some action-packed sequences to happen at the intersection of Manhattan and Brooklyn. He said, “We’ve prepared some unexpected situations we haven’t done before, like a battle on the river between two of the cities, so I hope you’ll look forward to them.”

The next location to come in the sequel is Queens. The web-slinging here, however, will be quite mellow as the location is having “much more of a neighborhood feel”. This location also has Parker’s childhood home 15 miles away from Manhattan. The final location which will also be present in this game is Coney Island. Although Inithar did not share much about this location, it still would be quite vital for the game.
