Nowadays, platform holders are doing all sorts of things to stand out. Their exclusive titles and unique hardware work to entice new gamers and fans to their console. While Microsoft does so by making its Xbox Game Pass service an attractive proposition for subscribers, Sony does the same by introducing exciting new exclusives and innovative hardware such as the PlayStation 5 and Dualsense.
Their Dualsense controller is to this day the standout feature of the PlayStation 5, closely followed by that fast-loading SSD. However, it appears Sony is working hard to add much more to their platform to attract new players and improve the experience of current players.

Years ago, when Microsoft revealed the Xbox Series X and S, they introduced a very interesting feature. They named it Quick Resume, and that feature gave players never-before-seen freedom in their games. Whenever this feature comes out, it will prove to be a game-changer for gamers everywhere. It would even solve that age-long dilemma of not being able to leave the game sometimes due to not having saved a game.
There’s much more Sony has in mind besides this
Sony also has a technology in place that would allow gamers to smell their in-game surroundings. This would be implanted in any future controllers that they release with their consoles.

All fans have to do is wait and see if these new features appear in the current console generation or a later one. The technology for letting players smell stuff would not be very straightforward. And the save stat feature would need an even more powerful SSD than the PlayStation 5’s.
