The Horizon series is one of the most loved titles among the gamers. This game offers stunning visuals, engaging storytelling, and flawless gameplay. With these kinds of aspects, fans might think this series has shown it all of Aloy’s exploits.

If you also think that, then you are absolutely wrong. Because Guerrilla Games, the company behind the beloved series, is seriously thinking of expanding the franchise with multiplayer mode.

In April, Horizon Forbidden West’s Burning Shores DLC was released, and fans thought Aloy’s journey was not over here. They were absolutely right, as the director of Guerrilla Games, Jan-Bart van Beek, has confirmed that Aloy’s journey will continue. In a recent Develop: Brighton talk, van Beek straightaway hints that there are currently 16 projects in motion. So, there is no stopping Aloy. He says, “We’re going to be continuing it for a very long while.”

It’s pretty exciting to know that these 16 projects are not limited to upcoming games only. It could be TV series, movies, or anything else.

Venturing into Multiplayer Territory

The Horizon series is known for its single-player RPG gameplay, where Aloy, the main character of the game, is on an adventure to explore her past in a mechanical world. But things are going to change as this franchise steps into the multiplayer segment. The director says, “As people probably already know, we’re also going to be working on a multiplayer game.”

This is probably a hint of the long-awaited Horizon MMO, which was rumored first in 2021. Last year, speculations were high, as reports suggested that Sony collaborated with South Korean developer NcSoft Corporation to make the dream project a reality.

Leaks are surfacing on the web as a tweet from a reliable insider claims there are two confirmed titles: Horizon 3 and Horizon Multiplayer and two rumored titles: Horizon Zero Dawn Remake and Horizon MMO, are coming out soon. With the huge potential Aloy always had, it was easily predictable that The Horizon series would not stop after Zero Dawn, Forbidden West, and Call of the Mountain.
