A few months back, leaks surfaced on the internet, suggesting a new PlayStation 5 controller in the works. Having the name ‘HUNT,’ informants had already claimed it to be Sony’s next big thing. The controller featured removable analog sticks, trigger stops, and rear buttons (flappy paddles).

And if you’re a PlayStation lover, you know the franchise never added these things to their controllers. Sony’s idea of attaching flappy paddles was something that broke the internet, as fans had to buy SCUFF/Pro controllers to use them. So, once they received this news, they could not wait to get their hands on one of them.

While it was all going well for the Japanese company, it now looks like they have landed themselves in troubled waters right before the product release. Apparently, the controller’s price has baffled fans as they expected a much cheaper rate. So, they penned down their feelings about the same on their social media accounts.

Fans ridiculed looking at the recent PlayStation 5 controller price

Last month, Xbox added another controller to its premium list as it dropped the Xbox Elite 2. They launched it on September 21 and set a $130 introductory price while giving the exact gaming experience. This somehow irked Sony’s headquarters, as they also wanted to enter the space.

So, to give back a tough answer, Sony announced its premium product, the PlayStation 5 Dual-Sense controller. They stood out of the crowd by adding multiple things under one roof, alluring thousands of fans. However, during this process, they failed to calculate the price band, leading to a massive sale price in the markets.

This became a serious issue in the PlayStation community, as they were disappointed with the franchise. After all, Sony announced a $200 introductory price which seemed to be out of hand for a PlayStation controller.

Additionally, it let down the fans as they were highly anticipating it for months. As a result, they expressed their feelings on social media, hoping for a better result. Out of all, one of them was just fed up as he questioned, “Sony trying to be Apple?”

Sadly, they did not get any response as the franchise continued to stay mum. However, that raised a prime question in everyone’s head, concerning whether Sony would face a backlash with the controller’s sales.

Sony will release the PlayStation 5 Dual-Sense controller on October 25, 2022.
