It seems like the move has worked quite well, as far as making an impression on the fans is concerned. Following the massive trailer reveal for Tekken 8, hardcore lovers of the franchise are truly hyped-up for the release date.

While sharing the news for the upcoming new entry, PlayStation also dropped crucial intel on its blog. It contained a message from Bandai Namco’s Executive Producer and Director Katsuhiro Harada. While mentioning the footage shown in the latest trailer, he wrote that it was taken from “a certain part in the current work-in-progress Tekken 8’s story mode, played on PlayStation 5”.
It implies that the gorgeous-looking graphics will be present in the actual gameplay as well if the above information is anything to go by. It’s also because “all the character models, backgrounds, and effects are the same ones that are used in-game”. Simply put, the trailer depicted in-game footage instead of a pre-rendered movie.

On a general level, Mr. Harada stressed on the mesmerizing graphics and the overall stunning quality of Tekken 8. It looks like the new installment is set to impress the players a lot. Furthermore, it will also bring a major shift in its scale, compared to past offerings.

Tekken 8 will come out for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. A release date is yet to be officially confirmed by Bandai Namco’s team.
