However, the verdict may put a den on their efforts in any case. Amidst the Xbox-Activision deal, Sony is rumored to be losing some ground to its competitors. Multiple franchises are set to discard any new deals with Sony including Crash Bandicoot and Tony Hawk.

These titles just may become Xbox exclusives, and the PS fans are taking the news hard.

Sony losing out as Xbox-Activision deal gets Federal approval

FTC’s preliminary injunction request has been denied by the US court after multiple hearing sessions. With this, Microsoft will definitely try to seal the deal as soon as possible with Activision. The takeover of the Call of Duty developers will shift industry powers significantly, with Microsoft finally looking to own some exclusive titles for the Xbox consoles. On the other hand, Sony fans are holding their breaths to see how the situation plays out for their favorite console makers.

Post-verdict, Sony, and Microsoft have already signed a binding agreement that promises to bring out all CoD titles on both Xbox and PlayStation until at least 2033. This would help the PS fans to sigh a breath of relief. However, this deal hasn’t mentioned any other franchises of Activision-Blizzard and many think that this doesn’t bode well. The deal, till now seems to be about CoD titles only.

Many other titles may not return to PlayStation in the near future. This has a number of fans losing their heads over what the deal may entail in the long run for the console industry in general.

Franchises like Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, and Tony Hawk have been associated with PlayStation for decades. Now, with the takeover of Activision, Microsoft will own all rights to these games. The community speculates these titles can very well become exclusive Xbox titles soon.

Many also think that the deal will set a lot of obstacles for the PlayStation makers as their competitors may be gaining some advantages in the market. A potential monopoly over the industry may become within reach for Microsoft, and that doesn’t resonate well with many fans.
