This information comes courtesy of reporting by Eurogamer. They have revealed information that could shift the way gamers around the world play the popular title.

Gran Turismo 7 pulled from sale in Russia

Many are considering GT 7 as a return to form for the series. The latest iteration of the racing franchise solves the technical issues of its predecessors. Additionally, it puts emphasis on the indulgent aspects of the game rather than online multiplayer. Truly bringing the title in line with Kazunori Yamauchi’s quote:

“Gran Turismo is an integrated simulator for enjoying life with cars. It’s a sandbox where players can freely discover experiences on their own.”

Although, if you are in Russia, then Eurogamer’s report would imply that you are yet to experience the game for yourself.

According to the publication, Sony has made the notable decision to respond to the global situation. To be more exact, the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Significantly, Gran Turismo 7 would not be available for sale in Russia.

And so, while the game launches worldwide on March 4, the same isn’t true for Russia. Eurogamer reports Sony made the momentous decision on March 3. However, this is pending an official announcement from the publisher. Indeed, the seriousness of such a decision would warrant careful consideration of many aspects before Sony confirms it.

This isn’t the first instance of the gaming industry responding to the ongoing crisis. EA reportedly plans to strike out Russia from its FIFA and NHL titles.

Currently, the Russian store page for Gran Turismo 7 reads “Release date pending confirmation.” However, fans are yet to receive further details on the move from PlayStation.
